The route between Altenburg and Colditz is ideal for cycling enthusiasts thanks to its varied landscape. The route starts in the former royal seat of Altenburg with its playing card museum and imposing castle complex. After approx. 14 km, we reach Gnandstein, where the Romanesque castle from the 13th century is well worth a visit.
The tour continues through the town of Frohburg, which is particularly famous for its castle and museum. The next town we come across is a thermal spa town. Bad Lausick offers its guests relaxing hours at the Riff spa and leisure pool, making a longer stay a good idea.
The destination of the cycle route is Colditz, a town that delights visitors with its Colditz Castle and Escape Museum.

Let's start our tour in Altenburg: we pass the playing card museum and Gnandstein Castle. Continuing towards Frohburg, we can plan a visit to Frohburg Castle. We cross the spa town of Bad Lausick and continue through the Colditz Forest, which leads along a forest path to the town of Colditz.
