Nowadays, the game of "Boßeln" is becoming increasingly popular, whether in a club, as an unusual company outing or on private occasions. Young and old meet up for a sociable game with fun and good humour, often equipped with a handcart and provisions for an unusual day out.
The B2 circuit shows the cultural and historical Stukenbrock landscape and leads along routes with little traffic.

Boßeln is a sociable game that is particularly popular in northern Germany. The rules are simple and make the game accessible to all age groups. The aim is to roll a ball over a set distance with as few throws as possible. The course can vary, often played on country roads or dirt tracks.

  • Teams : Two teams compete against each other. Each team has its own coloured ball made of wood or plastic.
  • Throwing : The ball is thrown from the hand, whereby the technique is freely selectable. The team members take their turn in a fixed order.
  • Playing the game : Play always continues with the ball that is behind, so that the same team can take their turn twice in a row.
  • Target : The team that gets the ball to the target with the fewest throws wins.

In Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, there is a special offer: four designated boßel courses that provide a variety of games. The necessary equipment can be hired from the FC Stukenbrock sports club. You can find a selection of all of the bowling tours in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock here.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

The crossroads between Am Stallfeld and Rahmkeweg has just been renovated! As part of this Boßeltour, you will cross one of the typical Senne streams, the Rahmkebach, twice, which later drains into the young Ems as the "Sennebach".

Safety guidelines

Despite the low-traffic route, please watch out for car traffic, especially on the Rahmkeweg. Use the roads and paths at your own risk.
