The cycle tour is perfect for a short city tour for families. Those interested in culture and all those who want to explore the west of Leipzig by bike. The route combines green parks, historical sights and lively, trendy districts.
Starting in the city center, the route leads past the Old Town Hall and St. Thomas Church, continuing through the famous Clara Zetkin Park along the Weiße Elster to the west. In the popular trendy district of Plagwitz, cyclists can expect a special mix of industrial culture and creative scene. Karl-Heine-Straße is considered the heart of the district with a great selection of restaurants and cultural venues. The canals, especially the Kral-Heine Canal, have earned Leipzig the nickname "Little Venice". In addition to canoe tours and excursion boat trips, there are even real Venetian gondolas gliding through the water. If you want, you can set off on a short boat tour yourself at any time.

Directions
The cycle tour starts in Leipzig's city center at the tourist information office at Katharinenstraße 8. Passing the market, the old town hall and St. Thomas Church, you reach the Dittrichring. Continue in the direction of the New Town Hall. From there, the route continues through Johannapark across the Sachsenbrücke bridge to Klingerweg. Then follow Könneritzerstraße for a while and then continue along Industriestraße over the Weiße Elster. At the traffic circle, take the first exit and pass the Karl-Heine-Kanal. Follow Erich-Zeigner-Allee and turn left at the junction with Karl-Heine-Straße, passing the Felsenkeller. Then follow Karl-Heine-Straße to the Westwerk and turn right before the bridge onto a narrow pedestrian and cycle path. Follow the course of the canal past the stone steps to Saalfelderstraße. Then cross the canal again, keep right and pass the old cotton mill. At the Plagwitz cemetery, cross the Antonienbrücke bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn left and continue along the level crossing to Naumburger Straße. After passing the canal again, continue along the Elster-Saale cycle route to the Museum für Druckkunst. After the next bridge, you return to Klingerweg. From there, continue straight on to Scheibenholz racecourse. At the Glashaus, the route leads back onto Anton-Bruckner-Allee. At the traffic circle, take the second exit onto Beethovenstraße, then turn left. Continue past the New Town Hall via Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz to Leipzig University on Augustusplatz.

- From Berlin via the A9 and A14, exit Leipzig-Mitte
- From Dresden via the A14, exit Leipzig-Ost
- From Munich and Erfurt via the A38, exit Leipzig-Südwest
