After riding into the wide valleys of the Sieg and Agger, a moderate ascent follows through the Lohmar forest and open fields up to the heights above the Wahnbach reservoir. Nice places to stop offer an opportunity for a mid-ride break. After the rest, the route leads down a ridge to the reservoir, where it is nice to relax and watch lying in the orchard meadow. A nice finale of the ride is provided by a guesthouse directly on the Sieg.

A start at the station in Hennef is recommended. All S-Bahn trains serving the Sieg Valley stop here, as does the RE 9 (Cologne-Siegen). However, other starting points are also conceivable, e.g., in Siegburg or Troisdorf.
From the station, we first cycle through the city center. After about 500m, we reach the Sieg bike path, which we follow downstream. Behind the motorway, the bike path runs comfortably on the dike. On the way, we pass junction 20. On the other side of the Sieg is the popular excursion restaurant Sieglinde, which we note for the end of the route. After junction 1, we see Siegburg on the other side of the Sieg. At the next junction 2, a detour to the district town with its large pedestrian zone and the Michaelsberg is possible.
To reach junction 29, we have to change sides of the Sieg at the striking Melanbogen bridge. Here, the Agger-Sülz bike path is already signposted, which we follow for the next approximately 6 km. The path offers a number of highlights. In quick succession, we pass the Agger weir, where many people seek cooling in summer, a boat rental station, as well as the "Aggua" leisure pool at junction 25. Here, another detour to Wissem Castle with a picture book museum (junction 24) is also recommended.
Our tour continues upstream along the Agger. Behind the Agger stadium, the path enters the Wahner Heide, an important European nature reserve, where military exercises still take place. At junction 32, we leave the Agger-Sülz bike path, navigate solely by the junction system, and ride over the Agger to junctions 6 and 4. Along the way, we pass through the center of the Agger town Lohmar with many dining options.
From junction 4, the character of the tour changes. Through forest, meadows, and farmland, it goes continuously uphill to junction 41 in Hochhausen. A total of 150 meters of elevation must be overcome over 7 km of riding. Once at the top, the bike path gently descends along the B56 to the Franzhäuschen inn. Here, we turn right into the forest toward the Wahnbach reservoir. A short detour to the dam is recommended. After the descent to Seligenthal, we reach junction 43. The remarkable monastery complex also has a restaurant. It is only 2 km to the next junction (20) with the Sieglinde excursion restaurant. Here, we are back on the Sieg bike path, which we follow back to the starting point in Hennef.
