ON A DISCOVERY TOUR WITH FIRE AND ZEAL

Between the Rhine and the Eifel, in the south of the Rhineland Nature Park, you can experience a hot piece of volcanic landscape.Here in Drachenfelser Ländchen, people and nature have been living with fire for a long time. Volcanic peaks, craters and old quarries tell of the formation and slow erosion of the glowing mountains. And right in the middle of it all are the traces of stone carvers and stonemasons, churches, manor houses and farms made of volcanic rock, potters and glassblowers with their fiery crafts and the delicious fruit brandies from the orchards.

Flame shows the way

The symbol with the flame shows you the way on the “Fire Route”. Over a distance of 33 km, the route connects six stations from Wachtberg to Rheinbach, which are starting points for exciting discovery tours. They are marked by information steles. Each stele is filled with stones made of different materials. Each material is typical of one of the six stations. The starting points are easily accessible by public transport and by car.

The route connects 6 stations from Rheinbach to Wachtberg over a distance of 33 km. These are the stations “Glasmuseum Rheinbach”, “Ruine Tomburg”, “Töpferort Adendorf”, “Wachtberg” as well as “Dächelsberg” and “Rodderberg”. Each station is marked with an information stele. The stations are also starting points for exciting discovery tours.
