Experience a scenic circular tour below the ridge path on the Hengeberg with beautiful views of the towns of Halle and Werther. A steep climb awaits you about halfway through the route. However, you can really relax at the rest area at the Arminius spring shortly before the end of the tour.
The former teacher from Hall, Christian Frederking, gave his name to this tour. Frederking was a man of unique originality. He shaped Halle like Halle shaped him, loved the city and its surroundings. In 1901, the nature lover founded the "Verschönerungs-Verein". As its chairman, he laid out many a hiking trail, a magnificent toboggan run and, in 1909, the chestnut avenue to the coffee mill. In 1912, Frederking built a beautiful home for himself and his warm-hearted wife Hermine on Kaiserstraße, next to the school. Christian Frederking had probably secretly expected to become an honorary citizen: On his 80th birthday in 1940, he received a certificate of honor - but it only included the naming of a hiking trail on the Hengeberg as the "Frederkingpfad".
