The eastern part of the district has always been characterized by Vlotho's convenient location on the Weser. Indispensable as a transportation route, numerous companies settled near the port. Rails and roads were added, the special features of which are presented along with a number of interesting industries. Today, in addition to brass instruments and wheelchairs, a whole range of other goods make their way from here to the rest of the world.
