From the starting point, it is just a few meters to the Rhine. For the next 12 km, you follow your nose without any obstacles to reach the traditional wine village of Unkel. If necessary, take a short break here to recharge your batteries for the steep ascent to the Rhine terrace 50 m higher up. There you will be enchanted by romantic avenues. The challenging ascent is quickly forgotten and you are ready to climb the 150 m higher Asberg on the following gravel straight through the forest. From there, you speed down into the Pleistal valley. The black chippings on the Nonnenberger Straße bear witness to the last remaining basalt quarries in the Siebengebirge on the Hühnerberg. To climb the small Ölberg from there via open field paths, you need to put a little more traction on the chain. Afterwards, there's a steep descent to the monastery ahead of you: Siebengebirge at its best. Now you're ready for one last challenge: the Dollendorfer Hardt - forest behind, vineyard in front. After the vineyard, you reach your starting point via a small road with half-timbered houses.
