This signposted circular route offers a varied ride through the hilly cultural landscape between Elseaue and Wiehengebierge.

On this varied circular route through the hilly cultural landscape between Elseaue and Wiehengebierge, there are numerous villages and farms along the way. Right at the start, the town of Bünde invites you to linger. Here you can visit the Doberg Museum and the German Tobacco and Cigar Museum. Via the Bauernbad Randringhausen, the tour leads to the southern edge of the Wiehengebirge, where there are a few climbs to overcome before the climatic health resort of Rödinghausen invites you to take a break in a café or in the spa gardens. You then cycle along the Kilverbach valley down to the Elseaue. Halfway along the route, you will see Haus Kilver on your left, a manor house first documented in 851 and originally built as a moated castle. The Elseaue then accompanies you into the cigar town of Bünde, where you reach the starting point of this tour.

The route leads for the most part along asphalted farm tracks without any significant car traffic or along independent cycle paths. Only on a total of 1.5 km do you have to reckon with heavier traffic. As there are only 800 meters of water-bound path surface to be ridden on, the circular route is also suitable for racing cyclists

An alternative starting point is the parking lot in front of the Haus des Gastes in Rödinghausen.

The town of Bünde can also be easily reached by train from Herford. A limited number of bicycles can be taken on the regional express train.

Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the Herford district cycling leisure website: www.fahr-im-kreis.de.
