Directions

Cycle through the North German Plain on almost traffic-free farm roads through our rural and tranquil recreational landscape and all without any inclines.

The newly designated tour with a stage length of 30 km starts at the Haus des Gastes (former Hudenbeck manor, dating back to 1529) in the spa gardens of Bad Holzhausen. 1529) in the Bad Holzhausen spa park, the
historical spa garden.

Follow the route signposted with the logos of the two towns northwards on the "Mühlenroute" cycle path, cross the half-timbered village of Offelten and cycle past Engershausen Castle (dating back to 1491) through beautiful meadows and fields to Hüffe Castle (built in the 18th century). Continuing north, you cross the Mittelland Canal via bridge no. 106/Lashorst/cycle path no. 10. Cycling westwards, you reach the Lower Saxony
state border in the area of the Schröttinghausen barbecue area.

At first, we recommend a detour to the historic fire department museum in the old village school from
the year 1862.

.

The route now continues on the BE 3 cycle path along the Mittelland Canal and branches off to the north at bridge no. 68/Wimmer. Following BE 3, the beautiful route leads through the "Rabber Bruch" and further west to Ippenburg Castle (dating back to the 15th century), one of the two state garden show grounds.

From Ippenburg Castle, the route heads south along the Hunte, crosses the Mittelland Canal (bridge no. 63) and reaches the BE 2 cycle path in the area of Wittlage Castle. Here you follow the further signs westwards to the center of Bad Essen with the second state garden show area in the Solepark.
