- Start: Zwickau, Paradise Bridge
- Destination: Crimmitschau, Bismarckhain
After seeing the city center of Zwickau, St. Catherine's Church and St. Mary's Cathedral, the trail heads northwest out of the city. It leads through the forest park to Königswalde, crosses the Dänkritzer Wald forest until shortly before Lauenhain and finally leads past a series of large and small lakes to Crimmitschau, where you can visit the town hall and St. Laurentius church. The first Protestant pastor was appointed in Crimmitschau as early as 1529. Perhaps this is why the town school had a considerable repertoire of socially critical theater performances. The Luther Trail and the Jacobs Trail meet in the northern district of Frankenhausen. The Luther Trail runs in the opposite direction to the "Via Imperii".

Directions
In Zwickau, the tour starts at the Paradiesbrücke bridge and leads across the Zwickauer Mulde river directly into the city center. The route continues up Nicolaistraße to the Domhof, where you can visit St. Mary's Cathedral. From there, the route continues along Peter-Breuer-Straße, from where you turn left into Innere-Plauensche-Straße. Continue straight ahead along Georgenstraße until you reach Humboldtstraße, where you turn left. Then walk along the Marienthaler Bach stream until you reach Hofer Straße. Here you turn right into Bülaustraße. From Hotel Marienthal, follow Jacobstraße until you reach Joliot-Curie-Straße, where you turn left. From here, the Luther Trail heads north out of the town to the B175, which it follows to Waldparkstraße. Waldparkstraße leads north through a wooded area to several lakes. Once you have passed these, the Luther Trail turns left and leads along forest hiking trails, always following the route marked with a green "L" on a white background, to Rappendorfer Straße. It follows this to the north via Mittelweg to Hartmannsdorfer Straße. The trail continues north through Hartmannsdorf, Dänkritzer Schmiede, Gersdorf, Lauenhain and Harthau via Lauenhainer Marktsteig to Crimmitschau. At the town park, the path turns left and runs parallel to the railroad line, which it crosses at Ritterstraße. It continues along Badergasse and the market to Leipziger Straße and Bismarckhain, where this stage ends.
