The nature park route connects "TERRA.vita" and "Dümmer". On this route, you will encounter two different landscapes that are characteristic of the Mühlenkreis district.
In the south, the route leads through the TERRA.vita nature park along the Wiehengebirge mountains over rather hilly sections. Here we recommend visiting and climbing the Wiehen tower with its unbeatable views. From the Mittelland Canal, the landscape changes, becoming flatter and continuing through fields, with only the Stemweder Berg standing out. As the route runs along the busy Stemweder mountain road, particular care is required here. Alternatively, you can also cycle along a local cycle route over the Stemweder Berg, paying attention to the sometimes loose ground.
The route can either be cycled in its entirety or split into two tours, depending on your preference. A shorter route with approx. 18 km and 190 m elevation gain can be ridden from the Bad Holzhausen spa gardens in the TERRA.vita nature park using junctions 17-15-18-16-17. A slightly longer circular tour with approx. 48 km and 130 m elevation gain is possible from the Stemwede-Levern tourist information office in the Dümmer Nature Park using junctions 9-8-7-6-5-3-4-11-12-13-9.
