The 9th stage of the Natursteig takes you on predominantly wide paths through easy terrain. The Sieg always winks between the trees before romantic views of the valley open up from the heights above the river.

Directions

From Au train station we first head to the banks of the tirelessly flowing Sieg. If you briefly see the steel and concrete of two bridges above your head, after a few steps you will only see the canopy of leaves above you. Dense forest surrounds the access path to the main path above the train station. We continue on the main path towards knowledge. Again and again, the lighter areas of former spruce stands interrupt the shady green. On the high plateau above Opperzau, the forest opens up and you can see far across the Siegtal. Down into the valley, crossed the Bellinger Bach and back up to Dünebusch. Here the Kanzelsley towers high above the “Hämmscher Land”, offering a great view over the romantic Siegtal. Down into the idyllic Holperbach valley and back up to Bitzen. Cross the small village, then go steeply down again to and over the Holperbach. Up to Holschbach, here you have a last pretty view of the hills above the Siegtal before you reach the access road to Wissen. This ends at Wissen train station.
