Under the motto "Let dreams grow", the formerly independent county of Rietberg offers a variety of natural pleasures for young and old in the garden show park. Adjacent to large nature and bird sanctuaries and the historic town center, the 40-hectare garden show grounds are a varied experience. Here, cultural history comes to life and meets nature. See for yourself whether these garden and flowering dreams are in any way inferior to their reputation!

The tour starts in the Rietberg-Neuenkirchen section of the park. "The green castle" - invites you into a hidden world. Wooded areas and water channels surround the park with its magnificent flower and shrub galleries. Directly at the north entrance, a large picnic and sunbathing area with giant boulders invites you to linger. From there, the path leads you along the Red Perennial Gallery to the Pleasure Garden. This is located right next to the Hall of Mirrors and the Music Room. It is not only worth stopping here for music lovers. Europe's largest open-air organ with 168 pipes, built according to a historical model, awaits you and should definitely be tried out. You can also gain an insight into the various religions at the Place of Cultures. On warm days in particular, the nearby large water playground is a great place to spend some time. Just a few meters away are the themed gardens with tips and ideas for your own garden. The rose garden, which is not far away, is an absolute dream and well worth a closer look. For sports enthusiasts, a short detour to the adjacent fitness trail is worthwhile. If you want to, you can work up a sweat here. The nearby Volksbank Arena, which offers a varied program, is also often a hot spot. Further entertainment, especially for children, can be found in the playrooms designed by children and young people for children, which delight visitors between the small animal breeding facilities and the Stennerlandstraße exit.

In the next part of the park is the climate park, where visitors can marvel at exhibitions on climate protection and renewable energies. Along the same path, you will also find the region's showplace, where the neighboring municipalities present themselves with information boards, and the partnership gardens. The path continues past the hedge maze, where skill is required, and later past the contributions of the schools and archaeology, as well as the Bible village. The Bible village of the Protestant parish is a unique project in Germany. The beekeepers also present themselves in the immediate vicinity of the nature garden. You will now pass the Rietberger Emsniederungen nature conservation and FFH area, which can be viewed even better from the 18-meter-high observation tower. Here you will also find the Forum Natur and, in the small wood that follows, the "schnurstracks" high ropes course, where you can put your courage to the test. If you prefer a quieter spot, you can enjoy the view of the lake from the "Lind am See" café, from the pedal boat or from one of the beach chairs. The water and mud area and the adjoining large climbing playground will delight all "little ones". Now the walk leads along the Ems into the "Living Cultural History" part of the park with another observation tower and a view of the Rietberg fish ponds nature reserve and FFH area. Exploring the barefoot and sensory nature trail and the playground are further worthwhile experiences. Our tour ends at the nearby St. John's Chapel, Rietberg's most important cultural and historical monument.
