Church Concert with the Variato Ensemble

Ensemble Variatio – Concert for Open Monument Day
 
We are pleased to welcome the Ensemble Variatio. The ensemble specializes in sacred choral music from the 15th to the 18th centuries, spanning the Romantic period through to the modern era, with a particular focus on the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Works by William Byrd, Thomas Tallis, Henry Purcell, Heinrich Schütz, and Johann Sebastian Bach form the core of their repertoire. The combination of old and new sounds creates unique listening experiences. This time, the vocal quartet will also perform the piece “Befiehl du Deine Wege” by Bach’s son-in-law, Johann Christoph Altnikol.
