With its location at the entrance to the Rabenauer Grund and directly at the narrow-gauge railroad stop, the house, which was built in 1911 and renovated by 2024, is an ideal place for an excursion.

The reputation of the time-honored "Ballsäle Coßmannsdorf" is known far beyond Freital's borders - as a popular location for celebrations and events. With its location at the entrance to the picturesque Rabenauer Grund and right next to the Coßmannsdorf stop on the narrow-gauge railroad, the establishment, which opened in 1911, quickly became a favorite for clubs, day-trippers and locals and is also one of Saxony's carnival strongholds.

But the glory of the old days increasingly faded. The building fabric was crumbling. In order to preserve the Ballsäle Coßmannsdorf as one of Freital's last major event venues, the city of Freital acquired the building and extensively renovated it for around 7.2 million euros with the help of urban development funds. Since 2024, the Ballsäle Coßmannsdorf, commonly known as the "BC", has shone in new splendor once again.
