We are a medium-sized artisan bakery and pastry shop with approximately 801 employees spread across six locations in the Sottrum area. We have been producing baked goods since 1946 and are now in our third generation.
As whole-grain bread specialists from the very beginning, we bake everything fresh, using our own pre-ferments and natural sourdoughs that have been allowed to ferment for extended periods. We leave out anything that doesn’t belong in bread or rolls! We also make delicious cakes, tarts, and other pastries.
Stop by our café to try our sandwiches, delicious cakes, and other snacks, and enjoy them with a specialty coffee or a cold drink. In the summer, you can take a seat on our patio in front of the bakery.

Openings
- We are open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Specialties
- Our "Igel" whole-grain bread was developed by Hans Holste and his son Hans-Jürgen in 1989. It has become our signature product and is well-known throughout the city and the countryside. This whole-grain bread contains no preservatives and no baking agents! The natural sourdough is made in-house.

- We have committed to the strict guidelines of “NATUR PUR.” Natur Pur is a seal of quality for breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries made according to traditional recipes, using all-natural ingredients, our own recipes, and artisanal methods.
The requirements and inspections are based on the Organic Farming Regulation, though they do not mandate organic farming methods.
