Café Sich in Ankum: one of the best ice cream parlors in Germany
When Hubertus Sich makes chocolate ice cream, the smell of chocolate wafts through the bakery and the whole house. Because at Sich, ice cream is still made by hand from fresh ingredients. Up to 24 varieties are offered every day. The magazine "stern" named Café Sich, which is now run by Hubertus and Christel Sich, one of the best ice cream parlors in Germany for good reason. The success story began in 1964, when confectioner Paul Sich recognized the gap in the market and was the first in the area to "tap" and sell soft ice cream in his backyard. The open-air shop soon became the Sich ice cream and coffee house in Ankum's front row, right next to Artländer Dom. By the way: If you're not in the mood for ice cream, you should definitely try the homemade cakes.
