History is particularly vivid here in Central Switzerland, where the Swiss Confederation was founded. The "Weisses Rössli" inn was first mentioned in 1559. In 1865, King Ludwig II of Bavaria stayed at the "Weisses Rössli", from where he wanted to experience the land of William Tell and the Rütli. Brunnen was the ideal starting point. Traces of the monarch can still be seen in the "Weisses Rössli" today.
