midi Restaurant & Market - Good things from the Bliesgau

  • Restaurant

The combination of a modern, authentic à la carte restaurant and a regional take-out market makes us unique in the Bliesgau region and beyond. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are reimagined by head chef Peter Wirbel, without losing the right balance of familiar flavors.

Sustainability is a top priority at Midi. This is reflected not least in the dishes, because the majority of the products come from the immediate region – this saves on transportation and avoids unnecessary energy consumption. The company also conserves resources when processing the individual components: for example, when it comes to meat, not only the fillet is used, i.e. the “best”, usually most expensive cut, but all parts of the meat if possible. With skill and creativity, sustainability is brought to the plate. Of course, meat-free and vegan dishes are also offered. In the newly designed rooms, the focus is on a feel-good atmosphere of comfort and coziness.

In the evening, Peter Wirbel, head chef at midi for gourmets, welcomes his guests in a spacious, modern ambience. Guests can enjoy the finely tuned seasonal menus in a relaxed atmosphere or choose their favorite dishes à la carte.

At lunchtime, guests are treated to a changing lunch buffet at affordable prices by the kitchen team, led by head chef Tina Dietz. With a market-fresh salad selection and seasonal vegetable side dishes, the restaurant also lives by the principle: “That's what the biosphere is for!”

The midi's range of products is rounded off by a biosphere market, where customers can purchase selected, sustainably produced delicacies from the Bliesgau biosphere reserve – to enjoy at home or as a gift for friends of good taste.
