RATAGS Arts and Crafts is a fine example of how a connection to one’s homeland and a love for Erzgebirge woodcarving come together. Since 1987, the company has been continuously developing the beautiful tradition of Erzgebirge woodcarving. Visit the RATAGS Arts and Crafts House and experience a family-friendly world of adventure spanning over 20,000 square meters, featuring an animal enclosure, a fairy-tale forest, a giant pyramid, a playground, a Christmas and spring house, and a craft and toy shop. In the demonstration workshop, you can see firsthand how intricate Erzgebirge woodcraft is made. RATAGS Kunsthandwerk is located in the Saxon Switzerland/Eastern Ore Mountains district, approximately 28 km from the state capital of Dresden, and is a member of the Association of Ore Mountain Artisans and Toy Manufacturers (Verband Erzgebirgischer Kunsthandwerker und Spielzeughersteller e. V.). It is authorized to bear the “Echt Erzgebirge” – Wooden Art with Heart. In addition to production in Saxony, this seal recognizes above all the nature of the products and the methods used to create them.

The Spring House, the demonstration workshop, and parts of the Christmas House have been given a fresh coat of paint, offering more space and brighter lighting. The beer garden has gained a partially covered area and has been expanded to 138 seats. Here, every visitor will find a shady spot, a freshly tapped beer, and delicious food. The “Bauernwirtschaft” restaurant and guesthouse offers plenty of space in four lovingly furnished dining rooms: the cozy “Guten Stube,” the “Jägerstübel,” and the “Rustikalen Scheune.” In addition, you can book the restaurant and bar in the vaulted cellar for your celebrations.
