Hotel Alte Werft GmbH & Co. KG

Where over 30 years ago it smelled of oil and grease, today it smells of coffee. Where sweaty men in helmets and safety shoes toiled, hotel guests now help themselves to the breakfast buffet. The overhead crane with its huge hook rests under the glass roof in a trendy peppermint paint job. Models of Meyer ships decorate the walls. Mighty punching and drilling machines dominate the foyer and the "Schnürboden" restaurant. These relics of the industrial age give our hotel an unmistakable character. A fascinating blend of past and modern awaits you.

After extensive renovation work, our hotel now has 122 comfortably furnished rooms. All rooms are equipped with a minibar, espresso machine, telephone, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, seating area, desk and a bathroom with walk-in shower. We also offer a variety of conference and event facilities.

Restaurant Schnürboden - Culinary meeting place with history

The so-called Schnürboden was once located where you can now indulge in delicious specialties from the kitchen and cellar. Every new ship built by Meyer Werft started here. All the individual parts of a planned ship had to be drawn out in their original size. Because they were originally measured and drawn with strings, the name Schnürboden came about.

The hotel has 6 rooms for events with up to 1000 people, the current link to our homepage is:
