Our family-run private hotel offers you a quiet retreat between the metropolises of Hamburg and Bremen and is an ideal starting point to explore the lively small town of Rotenburg and the landscape characterized by the Wümme and its tributaries on foot, by bike or by canoe. The beautiful ambience of the hotel with many small furnishing details ensures that guests can feel completely at home.
Our overnight guests have 36 rooms and two suites with every comfort at their disposal for a pleasant "temporary home". The majority of the rooms are furnished in the classic Wachtelhof pinewood style. 14 rooms have been redesigned in a modern boutique style.
During their stay, our guests can regenerate in the 1,000 m² Wachtelhof thermal spa. The lagoon pool with adventure saunas, relaxation areas, soothing massages as well as aromatherapy and cosmetic treatments invite you to relax.
Our hiking guests have two circular hiking trails at their disposal. The 21.3 km long NORDPFAD Rotenburger Wasserreich leads through a landscape characterized by streams and the Wümme. The 32.5 km NORDPFAD Wümmeniederung offers endless expanses, meadows and wooded dunes. The 10.3 km long, certified quality hiking trail NORDPFAD Dör' t Moor is also not far away. Here, the Wachtelhof offers a snack in the countryside on advance booking at the "Tischlein deck Dich!" rest area.
Cyclists can go on numerous half-day and day trips on the Rotenburg themed routes or on the Wümme cycle path. Golfers also get their money's worth. Two golf courses are within easy reach of our hotel.
Or how about a day trip to the Hanseatic cities of Hamburg and Bremen, to the fruit-growing region of Altes Land, to the Lüneburg Heath or to the North Sea coast with its UNESCO cultural heritage Watttenmeer. We will be happy to make suggestions for a day trip.
Culinary delights await you in our restaurant "Die Wachtelei". It combines a relaxed ambience and perfect service with pleasantly unagitated top cuisine. This is due in particular to chef Daniel Rundholz, who has been attracting connoisseurs and gourmets from near and far to the restaurant since March 2014. Seasonal cuisine with a regional focus and exotic influences form the basis of his creations. In cooperation with an organic farmer, the chef has dedicated himself to rediscovering "forgotten delights". Local medicinal herbs and ancient vegetables are imaginatively combined with modern gourmet cuisine.
