Kirkel Nature Lovers’ Centre

The hostel is characterised by its welcoming, relaxed atmosphere and extends a warm welcome to youth and walking groups, school groups, families and individual travellers alike. A total of 31 beds are available for an affordable stay, flexibly distributed across eight rooms. To ensure comfort and hygiene in the hostel, bed linen is hired directly on site.

The hostel also caters fully to its guests’ culinary needs: the hostess provides a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast to ensure the perfect start to the day. Depending on your preferences and group arrangements, half-board or full-board options can also be booked flexibly. Those who prefer to remain independent and would like to use communal cooking as a team-building activity will find the perfect space for this in the house’s fully equipped self-catering kitchen.

Leisure activities around the house and in the region: the immediate surroundings of the Naturfreundehaus offer almost endless opportunities for active leisure pursuits. Hikers and mountain bikers can access the well-developed network of trails in the Bliesgau region right on the doorstep. Particularly worth seeing is the nearby Kirkeler Tafeltour hiking trail, which leads through impressive scenery featuring bizarre red sandstone cliffs and dense forests. An absolute highlight for culture and history enthusiasts is the historic Kirkel Castle with its striking round tower and the adjoining craftsmen’s village, where the Middle Ages come to life in summer. For families and adventure seekers, the Kirkeler forest playground and the nearby nature trail offer exciting discoveries. During the summer months, the idyllic Kirkeler outdoor swimming pool also promises a welcome chance to cool off after a long hike.
