The journey into Switzerland's founding history begins at the boat station in Brunnen. After picking up the all-terrain JST Mountain Drive electric wheelchair, you enjoy an approximately ten-minute boat trip across the wild and romantic Lake of Uri to the Rütli boat station.

The ascent to the Rütli meadow - the symbolic birthplace of the Swiss Confederation - begins right there. The path leads through lush meadows and, after the first ascent, offers a worthwhile detour to the picnic area. From here, there is a magnificent view of the green-blue Lake of Uri.

Back on the main trail, the route continues to the historic Schwurplatz, where the Rütli Oath is said to have taken place in 1291. Since the 19th century, a limestone rock from the canton of Schwyz has stood here, from which three springs emerge - a symbol of the original cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden.

If you continue a little further, you will reach the upper stable and the Rütli meadow - a particularly atmospheric place to soak up the spirit of the Rütli in peace.

The all-terrain electric wheelchair can be hired from Tourist Info Brunnen directly at the boat station. A 10-minute boat trip with the Lake Lucerne Navigation Company takes passengers in the all-terrain electric wheelchair to the Rütli boat station. The path then leads from the boat station to the Rütlihaus and across the Schwurplatz to the Rütli meadow. The picnic area is also easily accessible with an all-terrain wheelchair.
