The Cinémathèque Leipzig was founded in 1991 and sees itself as a place for cultural and social debate with and about film. The Cinémathèque shows current theatrical releases, selected films in (new) thematic-artistic contexts, curated film series and experiments at the boundaries of film, accompanied by film talks, discussions, introductions and exhibitions.
