Dorfkirche Stecklenberg

Church
The Stecklenberg church is a small, charming church with an unusual gable view, consecrated on September 8, 1869.
It remained unchanged for around 100 years until extensive renovation work was carried out in the 1970s. It is idyllically embedded in a historical and beautifully designed ensemble with the flower-filled Stecklenberg spa gardens, a lifelike 1:20 scale model of Lauenburg Castle and the famous calcium spring with water axis, which helped Stecklenberg become a tourist attraction around 1900.

Hiking trails lead directly from the church to the historic castle ruins of Stecklenburg and Lauenburg. The location of the church marks a central point in Stecklenberg, which also offers an idyllic resting place on the Harz Monastery Hiking Trail with an angel's bench and a red Harz Hiking Needle stamp box (from spring 2026).
