Evangelical Lutheran Church Papstdorf

Church
The baroque church in Papstdorf stands on a hill and characterizes the townscape of the small district of Gohrisch in Saxon Switzerland.

The current late Baroque church was built between 1786 and 1787 by the master builders Kayser from Pirna and Reichert from Königstein. The design also incorporated suggestions from George Bähr.

The strikingly shaped tower with a canopy crown dominates the appearance and is visible from afar above the town.

The tower is located on the east side of the building - a special feature due to the hillside location. Inside, there is an organ from 1845 and a simple, bright interior.

The church is open to visitors.
