The Drütte Concentration Camp Memorial and Documentation Site is now located in one of the historical rooms of the former Drütte concentration camp on the Salzgitter AG site. Guided tours are conducted by the city history working group.

The permanent exhibition was set up in one of the former accommodation blocks of the concentration camp. It documents the history of the camp and reports on the individual fates of former prisoners, but also addresses how Salzgitter dealt with its Nazi history.

After an extensive expansion and redesign, the NEW PERMANENT EXHIBITION "Concentration camp prisoners in armaments production" was opened in October 2022 at the Drütte Concentration Camp Memorial and Documentation Site. Exhibits, historical traces, wall and floor exposures are on display in the revised version. The various exhibition areas provide visitors with information about the history of the four subcamps in the Salzgitter area.

The Arbeitskreis Stadtgeschichte e.V., the association that runs the memorial, regularly offers guided tours and events at the historic site.

Openings

Due to the special location in a working industrial plant, the memorial can only be visited with a guide. Please book guided tours via the association office. The Drütte Concentration Camp Memorial is open to visitors on the second Saturday of the month between 3 pm and 5 pm, even without prior booking. Access via factory gate 1.
