Church
The main part of the church dates back to the 12th century and is therefore of Romanesque origin.
In the middle of an ensemble of historic buildings (old school, now parish hall, cantor's house, parish barn), surrounded by old lime trees, you will find the church in the center of Landesbergen.

The groinless arched vault inside the church is comparatively rare and has earned the Landesberg church entries in various art travel guides. Further work was carried out on the church building in later centuries, e.g. the windows were redesigned in Baroque style. The nave was also extended by two (shortened) bays because the church had become too small for the growing local population in the 19th century. The construction seams are still clearly visible on the outside of the church (1822). The church tower was also erected in those years, although for cost reasons it was built in quarrystone masonry rather than seamless ashlar. This replaced an earlier ridge turret.

The last major renovation of the church building, dating from 1960, concerned the interior. The baroque pulpit altar, the historic Röver organ and most of the galleries were (unfortunately) removed. The parish is endeavoring to compensate for these losses by purchasing new items. Worth mentioning is the tomb of the Estorf noble family von Freytag right next to the church tower, where even a royal Hanoverian field marshal found his final resting place.
