Learning and adventure garden on 13,000 square meters

The garden was created in 2014 and visitors can take a close-up look at the various types of biotopes in the North German cultural landscape and the associated opportunities to influence their development through proper landscape management. Elements of the historical cultural landscape are easy to discover, they need to be explained as witnesses to history and often also as places where rare animals and plants occur. Insects need very different plants for breeding and for food. Many bird species breed in the hedges that were once planted to separate fields.
