Cultural Centre PFL
With its 65-metre-long street front, six-part portico and elegantly curved driveway, the Cultural Centre PFL on Peterstraße is a special eye-catcher. Until the 1980s, this imposing building housed a hospital, planned around 1800 by its namesake Peter Friedrich Ludwig.
Cultural centre and educational institution
Today, the PFL is one of the most important cultural centres in Oldenburg. The city library, the cultural office, the Artohek and the Umwelthaus are just a few of the numerous institutions housed here today. The Kulturzentrum PFL is also very popular for events and seminars. The event wing and the seminar rooms can accommodate events with ten to 300 guests. Readings, concerts and the Oldenburg Children's and Young People's Book Fair (KIBUM), which takes place annually in November, attract numerous visitors to the listed complex. The "Kulturcafé" is open to all guests.
