South of Lake Markkleeberg is its big brother, Lake Störmthal. The Mining Technology Park is a visible attraction even from afar. You can visit the floating cultural island VINETA by ferry. 3D archery, motorboat trips, sailing trips, windsurfing and spectacular flights with the VINETA-Fly are all possible on Lake Störmthal. Every year in August, the three-day "Highfield" festival takes place with live acts from rock to hip-hop and up to 35,000 visitors.
