Lake Thümmlitz is a natural habitat for beavers, water birds and fish, but is also ideal for swimming, pedal boating and relaxing.
Lake Thümmlitz was created in 1975 through the construction of a dam. The lake is a natural habitat for beavers, water birds and fish, but is also ideal for swimming, pedal boating and relaxing. The lake has been licensed as a bathing lake for many years. Fishing permits can be purchased on site at the reception of the local vacation park.

Directions & Parking facilities

By car: Take the A14 in Taucha. Follow the A14 to Wurzener Str./B107 in Grimma, take exit 31-Grimma on the A14. Follow Wurzener Str./B107, take Leisniger Str., Grimmaische Str., Grechwitzer Str., K8330 and Schkortitzer Str. to Zum Thümmlitzsee.

By public transport: Take the RB 110 or bus line 690 to Grimma Bahnhof, then bus line 632 to Förstgen. It is a 13-minute walk to the destination.
