Lutherkirche Holzminden

Church

The Luther Church (originally St. Mary's Church) is a landmark of the city.

The space for church services underwent significant alterations when it was converted into a two-aisled hall in 1577 and then again in 1900.

The church is the seat of the full-time church district musician with a focus on church music in the church district. The interior of the church was renovated and repainted between 1970 and 1972. The interior of the Lutherkirche is characterized by the approximately 100-year-old historicist furnishings. In the coming years, the interior renovation and the associated restoration of the interior painting in the nave to the state of the year 1900 is to take place. A support association has been founded for this purpose.
