Privatbrauerei Wittingen

For centuries, Wittingen was characterized by beer brewing. Initially, brewing rights were exercised in almost every town house. Today there is only one place left: The Wittingen private brewery is located on the edge of the old town. The brewing right can be traced back to 1429 - as a well-known beer name reveals. Brewing continued in the old headquarters on Wittingen's market square until 1908. At its current location, the brewery normally invites visitors to tour its production facility from September to May and learn the little and big secrets of the art of brewing. After the guided tour by experienced master brewers, there is an opportunity to taste the Wittingen products and enjoy a rustic snack. As soon as the coronavirus situation allows, the brewery will offer the popular tours again.

A selection of souvenirs from the Wittingen brewery is available from the Wittingen tourist information office. The entire range can be purchased in the brewery's online store. The ordered goods can be collected from the brewery by appointment.
