With its striking 48 meter high tower, it is not only the oldest building, but also the landmark of the city of Westerstede and the largest church in the Ammerland. In this almost 900-year-old church (1123), contemporary witnesses from the various periods have been preserved in their expressions: The organ of St. Peter's Church was built in 1971, but the organ prospect is still original from 1876. It is a historically built Baroque organ with a North German sound concept. The baptismal font dates from 1648 and is carved from a single tree trunk.
A brochure with more detailed information can be found in the church or obtained at the tourist information office.
Our tip: If you would like to enter the church outside opening hours, you can borrow the church key from the Tourist Information Westerstede during their opening hours, Am Markt 2.
