The Theater im e.novum in Lüneburg is the vibrant heart of the local cultural scene and is known for its fresh, diverse program. Of particular note is its focus on theater for children and young people, which complements a selection of plays for adults. Founded in 2000 by Margit Weihe, the theater has since developed into a lively hub around which an impressive ensemble of 130 members has gathered. These members are divided among eight acting groups, and the waiting list is constantly growing.

The ensembles benefit from several months of professional acting instruction, which covers a variety of topics such as character development, physical theater, singing, dance, and expression. After this intensive preparation, the ensemble works on a specific play, which is then performed multiple times under professional conditions.

e.novum, the theater’s home, is an innovation and startup center in Lüneburg. Nestled between Leuphana University and the Kurpark, it offers members a beautiful theater hall and offices. The theater is funded by contributions from ensemble members, ticket sales, and grants.
