The forest educational trail in the floodplain forest is intended to be used as a place of silence, as a recreational area for people, and as an educational trail for young and old.

It is best to start at the station along the Steiner Aa and then turn into the Aazopfweg up to the entrance of the floodplain forest. During the walk, you will be accompanied repeatedly by informative panels. In the floodplain forest, there is a barbecue area called "Aazopf Grillstelle" with a great view of Lake Lauerz and invites you to take a short break. After that, simply follow the path until you return to the Aazopfweg.

About the Auenspur

The Au area has repeatedly been flooded in the past by the Steiner Aa. The original course is still visible in the floodplain forest today. Today, the mouth area with its transition zone is a protected river floodplain. Therefore, its biological diversity is also large. One can discover over 1500 different plant species and 40 different woody plants.
