From Bad Laasphe you first reach Laaspherhütte via a well-developed paved cycle path and then pass through beautiful floodplain landscapes via Herbertshausen to Banfe. In the village there is a short climb and the route leads above the Banfe valley to the junction to Hesselbach at the “Großer Bohnstein.” After a break in Hesselbach, it goes steadily uphill for about 2 km to the Spreitzkopf. To reward yourself for the climb, a detour to the wind turbines at the summit offers a great panoramic view over the Wittgenstein region. Afterwards the route continues with lovely views downhill into the Wabach valley and towards the Ditzrod forester’s lodge, then through the Gennernbach valley back to Bad Laasphe.
