A – Visit to the indoor or outdoor pool and the Trixi leisure park

The indoor adventure pool is completely accessible. There is a separate changing cabin for wheelchair users with shower and WC. A loan wheelchair as well as a pool lift are also available. The indoor pool has a children's pool, a wellness and sauna area, and a snack bar accessible to wheelchair users. Not all saunas are accessible to wheelchair users. In summer, a visit to the Waldstrand outdoor pool is recommended. The extensive area offers a large playground, a water play area, and a snack bar. A special feature of the pool is the untreated mountain water. A ramp into the pool is available. Directly adjoining the outdoor pool is the outdoor area of the Waldstrandhotel. Here there are diverse recreational opportunities. In summer, there is a giant bouncy cushion, and children can choose from a variety of loanable vehicles. At the Info-Center car races can be driven on a large race track; there is a gondola pond and a climbing park.

From the Trixi Holiday Park, a beautiful circular route about 3 km long can be taken mostly on paved forest paths (see figs. 1-5). Lunch can then be taken at the Waldstrandhotel. It is accessible and has a disabled-friendly toilet.

B – Those who decide to hike from Trixi Holiday Park on tours B1 or B2 towards Großschönau town center use the paved hiking trail starting from the climbing park car park. We follow the hiking trail to Jonsdorfer Straße, which we cross (traffic island present) and follow the hiking trail on the opposite side.

The trail leads into Emil-Schiffner-Straße. We follow it until, after crossing the railway tracks, we turn left into Güterbodenstraße and follow it to Bahnhofstraße. At the turn to Bahnhofstraße, the first information board of the Textile Education Path can be seen. The bilingual Textile Education Path (German, Czech) offers many interesting information about the textile history of Großschönau as well as the associated historical buildings and important personalities.

Then we turn right into Bahnhofstraße, where another sign of the educational path is visible, and follow it to Hauptstraße.

If you are already hungry, you can take a small detour to the Asian snack bar at the main street crossing. It is located directly on the main street, if you turn right (after 80 m). The snack offer is only for takeaway and is sold through a barrier-free accessible window. Alternatively, at the same turn, 80 m to the left on the main street, is the also barrier-free "Café Liebe", which offers small savory snacks as well as ice cream. In summer you can also sit outside here.

With or without detour, we now cross the main street and follow Gerichtsstraße to the pedestrian bridge. After crossing the bridge over the Mandau, we turn left into David-Goldberg-Straße. We walk this street along the Mandau and come across two more information boards for the Textile Education Path. We turn left into Schenaustraße and continue to the German Damask and Terry Museum.

The museum offers a disabled parking space, barrier-free access to the exhibition, and a disabled-friendly toilet. Only the upper floor is not accessible for people with severe mobility impairments or wheelchair users, as there is no elevator. Examples of the exhibits on the upper floor are available in the accessible area. The most impressive part of the museum and the demonstration workshop are accessible. Guided tours for the visually impaired, blind, hearing impaired, and people with learning difficulties are possible. Advance registration is requested. Because the looms in the demonstration workshop produce a loud noise, even very hard-of-hearing people can get an acoustic impression. Through vibrations transmitted through the floor by the looms, even deaf and blind people can feel the machines at work. The museum is especially known for its functional looms. This includes the only terry loom still existing in Germany and a unique damask drawloom reconstructed a few years ago, where real damask is still woven today. There is also a small loom that can be operated by visitors themselves. The museum provides lightweight aluminum chairs for people who have difficulty standing for long periods. These can also be brought to the desired location by staff if needed.

Directly next to the museum is the guesthouse "Gaststätte am Heimatmuseum" with a barrier-free accessible beer garden. The rustic guest room is accessible via a ramp, which staff set up. Assistance is necessary here. The guesthouse is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. From Wednesday to Friday it is open 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. At the nearby "Café Liebe" (150 m from the museum), in good weather, it is possible to enjoy sweet delicacies handcrafted on the barrier-free accessible terrace directly by the Mandau river. Both gastronomic establishments do not have disabled toilets. The toilet in the adjacent museum can be used if needed.

After visiting the museum and the stop at the neighboring guesthouse or Café Liebe, we cross the Mandau via a bridge with historic cobblestones. For about 30 m the ground is uneven and the slope rises relatively steeply and falls steeply again on the opposite side. After crossing the bridge, we follow Theodor-Haebler-Straße towards the church. For about 150 m we walk on this cobblestone street until Kirchstraße, where we turn right. We follow the street to the church. The church is accessible and open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If the church is closed, you can also report to the community center 30 m away. After prior telephone arrangement at the community office (035841 / 35750), the church can also be opened outside opening hours. There are also 3 free public disabled parking spaces at the church.

We continue on Kirchstraße until we reach the main street. Here we first cross Kirchstraße to the other side and then use the traffic island to cross the main street. Then we walk 60 m on the sidewalk along the main street to Gemeindepark and turn left. With beautifully designed green spaces, seating, and a playground, Gemeindepark offers many opportunities for relaxation. You will also find further panels on the Textile Education Path in the park. We follow the path until reaching the bridge over the Lausur. After crossing the bridge, we turn right onto the hiking trail along the Lausur and follow it until reaching Neuschönauer Straße, where we turn left.

We follow Neuschönauer Straße until we reach Waltersdorfer Straße. Here there is a disabled parking lot with unlimited parking time in case someone wants to start the tour from here. At Waltersdorfer Straße we turn right. We pass the Frottana textile factory. Here there is a factory outlet where high-quality terry products and other textiles can be purchased. Opposite the factory hall we turn left into Jonsdorfer Straße and reach Trixi Holiday Park after 1.2 km.

At Trixi Holiday Park you can eat at the Waldstrandhotel, swim, use the various leisure facilities of the park, set off on the circular tour through the adjacent forest, go to Jägerwäldchen or get to Waltersdorf by bus (line 14, runs hourly or every two hours), car, or hike. There you will find the Nature Park House with the four-language exhibition about the nature park and the tourist information. The Café "Kaffeerösterei" is also located in the same building. Visitors can expect a wide variety of self-roasted coffees as well as a rich selection of cakes and pastries. Disabled toilets are available in the building.

Those arriving in Waltersdorf by car can drive to the Hubertusbaude guesthouse after visiting the exhibition and the café. The Hubertusbaude guesthouse offers a wonderful view. This can be enjoyed either outside on the terrace or in the conservatory. The dining room is accessible via a separate wheelchair entrance from the first, lower parking lot via an elevator. The dining rooms and toilets are accessible. However, the toilet is not adapted for disabled users. As an alternative, a public disabled toilet is located nearby (3-5 minutes by car) at the parking lot at Windgasse, which can be used for a fee of 50 cents.

As an alternative for dinner, it is also possible from Trixi Holiday Park to take the paved separate bike/pedestrian path towards Jonsdorf to the "Jägerwäldchen" guesthouse (1.4 km). The tavern and beer garden are barrier-free, but there are no disabled toilets.
