Boat hiking on the Danube river

This tour along the Danube is about 18 km long and starts in Günzburg. It is a very leisurely tour that passes Reisensburg Castle through the Danube Valley, past nature reserves and through one of the largest bird migration areas in southern Germany near Faimingen.
 
On the way there are three dams with lock gates to traverse: at Offingen (kilometer 2556.4), Gundelfingen (kilometer 2551.9) and Faimingen (kilometer 2545.6).
 
Tip to rest: At kilometer 2554.3 of the river, you can take a break at the “Radlertankstelle Offingen” where you can eat or drink something. Just after passing the premises, there is a jetty on the left bank.
