The hike follows the Erzgebirge-Vogtland ridge trail around Bärenstein and leads back to the starting point on the Czech side.

You start at the foot of the Bärenstein on the ridge path to the Cranzahl dam. From there, the hike leads through the forest to Bärenstein and over the border to Weipert. Continue through the village and to the border to Kühberg. Here the tour turns left again into German territory. From Kühberg, a short detour to the Fichtenhäusel adventure hotel is worthwhile. Otherwise, hikers follow the signposted ridge path up to the Bärenstein with its unforgettable views. After a well-earned rest, it's all downhill to the parking lot.
