Amidst the highest mountains of the region, this route runs wonderfully relaxed through the valley over open meadows of the glider airfield and along the Leitzach.

For a small hamlet, Geitau has a lot to offer: There is the over 500-year-old, carefully renovated Hasenöhrl farm, which opens its doors for Sunday dining (all day). Or the Rote Wand with its beautiful beer garden, where the young cook and junior chief serves a cuisine that attracts not only locals from Schliersee. And there is the glider airfield of the Schliersee air sports club. The wide, open field unfolds amidst the high peaks: Rotwand, Aiplspitz, Miesing, and of course the imposing Wendelstein, which is always in view. On the Osterhofen side, shortly before the Wendelstein railway and the train station, you can also drop by the flower café Kramerin (check opening hours). Here you will find, besides flowers and plants, also regional products – and of course coffee and homemade cake.
