Over the Pöppelmann Bridge out of the old town of Grimma, the Path of Stones, a thematic hiking trail, leads parallel to the Mulde River to Höfgen. Along the way, the hiker passes the city forest, the Rabenstein, which allows a wide view over the river landscape, and the stone cliffs. The path is dotted with sculptures by renowned artists. The ‘village of the senses’ becomes a true experience with its old farmsteads, meadows of scattered fruit trees and the wildly romantic hollow. From Höfgen, a hand-operated yaw rope ferry takes you across to Nimbschen, paving the way past the famous monastery ruins back to the city of Grimma.
