Directions
This route takes you through the largest intact moor complex in eastern Saxony.
Follow in the footsteps of the Sorbian legendary figure KRABAT.
The starting point of the route is the train station in Hoyerswerda Old Town.
- Cycle along Bahnhofsallee and Am Bahndamm.
- You cross the railway tracks to the right and continue to Groß Neida, where you follow the markings of the Frog Cycle Path.
- You ride on the bike path next to the B 97 to the junction before the Kummelmühle, then to Dörgenhausen, following the Frog Cycle Path.
- Cross Wittichenauer Straße and cycle past Zelders ponds and the pond house Zelder via Neudorf-Klöstlich to Wittichenau.
- On the Frog Cycle Path you cycle along Kamenz Straße to the junction to Liebegast.
- Here you turn right to Dubring and continue following the Frog Cycle Path.
- At the edge of the Dubringer Moor, you ride to Scheckthal and Zeißholz.
- Shortly before Zeißholz you leave the Frog Cycle Path and from then on follow the KRABAT Cycle Path.
- On the wide forest path you cross the B 97 in Neukollm.
- At the Auerhahn gravel pit, turn left onto the forest path.
- You ride about 1.6 km through pine forests and then turn right at the large junction, following the KRABAT Cycle Path, to Petzerberg.
- Going downhill you reach Schwarzkollm, where the "Black Mill" of the sorcerer KRABAT from Otfried Preußler's novel of the same name can be visited.
- Past the Black Mill, continue following the KRABAT Cycle Path.
- Through the extensive pine forests you reach Bröthen, where you leave the KRABAT Cycle Path to the left towards Lauta.
- After crossing the railway tracks, turn right onto the street "An der Bahn."
- Along the forest edge, you return to the starting point in Hoyerswerda Old Town.
