Nature meets art on the Forest Sculpture Trail.

What happens when internationally renowned artists interpret the eventful history between the Protestant-influenced Wittgenstein and the Electorate of Cologne-rooted Catholic Sauerland? Quite simply: eleven incomparable sculptures, statues, and installations on the Forest Sculpture Trail that provoke and invite discussion. Form your own opinion. Walk the 23 km long Forest Sculpture Trail from Bad Berleburg to Schmallenberg. A "blue gate on a white background" leads you along the Forest Sculpture Trail to eleven places where art and nature come together.

The Forest Sculpture Trail runs between Bad Berleburg in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district and Schmallenberg in Hochsauerland, developed between 2000 and 2010. On the Rothaarsteig access routes of both towns, it spans nearly 23 kilometers across the Rothaar ridge, crossing the Rothaarsteig near Kühhude.

Internationally renowned artists have created a one-of-a-kind art hiking trail in Germany with their artworks along the Forest Sculpture Trail.

All 11 artworks are now completed in this long-time project. The artists were given time to create first-class pieces. The landscape surrounding the artworks is primarily characterized by spruces in the ridge areas and mixed forests in the valleys. The hiking taxi (Saturdays) offered by Schmallenberger Sauerland Tourism provides a convenient option to get from Schmallenberg to Bad Berleburg.
