The cycle tour from Döbeln to Großbothen covers around 34 kilometers along the idyllic Freiberg Mulde. In Döbeln, the St. Nicolaikirche church and the historic town hall invite you to explore.
After a few kilometers, you reach the impressive Buch Monastery, a former Cistercian monastery that offers farmers' markets, exhibitions and numerous art workshops and readings. In the small town of Leisnig, the imposing Mildenstein Castle towers high above the river and offers magnificent views. The Kulturbahnhof Leisnig also offers a music summer full of concerts and international artists.
Another highlight along the route is the romantic moated castle of Podelwitz, which invites you to linger with gastronomy and events such as music evenings and rum tastings.

Directions
The tour to Großbothen starts at Döbeln main station and continues at the traffic circle onto Lindenstraße and Grimmaische Straße across the Freiberger Mulde. After crossing the bridge, turn left onto the Mulde cycle path and through the village of Großbauchlitz. The cycle path now runs along the Mulde for a whole stretch and passes the villages of Technitz, Westewitz and Scheergrund before reaching Klosterbuch. Cross the bridge over the Mulde there and follow the Mulde cycle path to the right as far as Leisnig. The route continues past Mildenstein Castle to Tragnitz and Altleisnig, where you have to cross the Mulde again. Turn left there to Wiesenthal. Via Marschwitz, Tanndorf and Maaschwitz, the route continues along the Mulde to Erlln. At the end of Erlln, turn right and follow the route to Kössern. Cross the bridge over the Vereinigte Mulde and continue along the riverbank to Großbothen.
