From Eslohe to Wenholthausen

Start centrally in Eslohe at the Hauptstraße, turn into Papestraße and pass Pampel (statue of an Eslohe original) and the parish church through Kupferstraße above the spa park. Pass the tourist info at the Kurhaus and reach Homertstraße. Continue left along the street, past St. Isidor Chapel to Forellenhof Poggel. Here cross the street and go left a short distance over the Sauerland bike ring, then turn right, follow the hiking sign X22 (or the sign feeder Sauerland Höhenflug, H on black background). At the next cable crossing turn right, and at another please turn right again. Follow the path uphill, with a wonderful view of the village of Sallinghausen up to the height, the so-called Windknochen. After reaching the highest point, walk downhill and now follow the yellow H hiking sign for the Sauerland Höhenflug. The Höhenflug leads you through a beech forest to the Lauschgeist, a large sculpture where you can listen to the sounds of the forest or possibly to the sounds from the opposite so-called Erdenklangstraße (a hedge that emits sounds triggered by a motion detector). Continue to follow the Sauerland Höhenflug past Gut Habbecke. First turn right and then left (hiking sign golden G), you are now on the Wenholthausen Golddorfroute. Hike below the game enclosure to the playground on the Eibel. Past the shooting hall, it goes steeply downhill to your destination. In Wenholthausen you will find various nice places to stop for refreshment.

Return can be made by bus line 367 from "Wenholthausen Friedhof" to "Eslohe Hauptstraße".
