A perfect start for a hike on the Sauerland Heights Route is the Birkenbrauck hiking car park. The hiking taxi takes you there. Hike along the Sauerland Heights Route over the Homert, accompanied by impressive views and wonderful nature. The taxi starts at the bus station in the center of Eslohe, where sufficient parking spaces are available.
- The hiking taxi can only be used by holders of the Schmallenberger Sauerland Card.
- Start: Saturdays at 11:00 am and Sundays at 10:00 am at the bus station in Eslohe.
- Registration for the hiking taxi: by 5:00 pm at the latest on the previous day at Taxi Fabri under 02973 / 81414. Please also register dogs.
- Destination: The hiking taxi takes you to the Birkenbrauck hiking car park. From there you hike back to Eslohe.

Directions
Start your hike at the Birkenbrauck hiking car park. Follow the hiking sign of the Sauerland Heights Route (SHF). After a gentle 2 km ascent, take a short detour to the Homertspitze (656 m). Here you can enjoy the wonderful view from a forest bench!
The path then leads you gently downhill along the Sauerland Heights Route past a small shelter through open terrain with great views or through tall spruce forest to the Windknochen above Wenholthausen. Here you leave the Sauerland Heights Route and follow the hiking sign X22. Hike over the Hellebrück, with a view of the DampfLandLeute Museum back to Eslohe.

This route is ideal for guests from Eslohe. Alternatively, you can arrive by car to Eslohe.
You can find free parking, among other places, at the bus station in Eslohe.
For guests with a valid Schmallenberger Sauerland Card, bus travel on public transport is free.
Public transport conveniently brings you from the surrounding towns Wenholthausen (Bus 367), Reiste (Bus S70) and Cobbenrode (Bus R68) to the starting point of the taxi at Eslohe bus station.
